A Gogarth Christmas

As Christmas approaches, we at Ysgol Y Gogarth have been embracing the true spirit of Christmas with a series of merry and festive events that have brought our school community closer together.

We started the season with our much-loved Makaton Advent Calendar, where each day brought new festive Makaton surprises and opportunities to celebrate together. Adding to the excitement, the mischievous Naughty Gogarth Elf kept everyone entertained with his daily antics, bringing smiles to students and staff alike.

Our musical celebrations were a true highlight this year. The beautiful Carol Concert at St. Paul’s filled the air with traditional hymns and holiday spirit, while the Christingle Concert at St. John’s brought a warm and reflective touch to the festivities.

The younger children stole the show in the Infant Christmas Concert, and our Juniors captivated the audience with two Nativity performances.

This year's Christmas Fayre was a resounding success, filled with stalls, games, and festive treats. It’s fair to say that it was the busiest we’ve had in a long while and that we raised over £2,000, which will go a long way toward supporting our school and enhancing the experience for all our students. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along and contributed to this fantastic event!

Another highlight was our Christmas Dinner, where students enjoyed a delicious festive meal cooked by Nia Busby and her team. The event was made even more special by the Christmas Hat Competition, which brought out some wonderfully creative designs and plenty of laughter.

This morning, our staff were treated to a well-deserved moment of appreciation, as they were welcomed into the café by the Senior Leadership Team for a fresh cuppa coffee and a bacon bap. It was a small gesture of gratitude for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

A special moment of pride came during the pantomime performance, where our very own Lottie got to go on stage and sing and dance with Buttons. Lottie, we were all so proud of you for stepping into the spotlight and making the show even more memorable!

To round off the festive celebrations, Santa himself stopped by to deliver gifts, leaving the children with happy faces and cherished memories. Thank you to Happy Faces Charity for donating the gifts.

The term closed with a lively Christmas disco, where students danced the afternoon away with their friends and teachers.

As we head into the holidays, we want to thank all the parents, carers, and families for their support during this festive period. Your encouragement and involvement make these celebrations so special.

From all of us at Ysgol Y Gogarth, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We look forward to welcoming everyone back in January for another fantastic term.
